Jack Vaught Memorial Sporting Clay Shoot

On June 14-15, 2013 the Jack Vaught Memorial Sporting Clay Shoot was held at Barnsley Gardens. Eagle Rock sponsored the event with the Anheuser-Bush Brewery in Cartersville. All who participated enjoyed some ice cold beers, shot some guns and most importantly, had fun for a great cause. The clay shoot raised a profit of $20,000 for Operation One Voice, a nonprofit that supports the families of fallen and wounded special operations forces soldiers.  View Gallery

2013 Operation One Voice Golf Invitational

Operation One Voice Golf InvitationalThe 2013 Operation One Voice Golf Invitational was another success thanks to the continued support of our loyal sponsors and annual golfing enthusiasts. This year we hosted 23 teams. Yuengling and Eagle Rock were the host sponsors meaning there was plenty of cold Yuengling on the course. Other sponsors joining us this year were BB&T Bank, the Ritz-Carlton hotels, Meggitt Training Services, and McGriff, Seibel & Williams Insurance brokerage. Their financial support and in kind contributions went a long way to making this a record year.

We were blessed this year with a sunny Friday at Lake Lanier Island’s Legacy Golf course. The sun was out, the heat and humidity rose, and 92 golfers sweated a few pounds, spent some needed dollars, lost a few balls, and consumed enough Yuengling to make the day a success. After the day was completed, Operation One Voice received over $47,600 up nearly $5,000 from 2012. These dollars will go a long ways to helping the families of those who protect our way of life and our liberties.

Color GuardThis tournament is unique in it focuses all attention on a great cause while also having fun. We begin the day with a salute to those who have died serving their country and to those serving today. A color guard presents the colors, God Bless America is sung, and a gun volley ends the ceremony. For about 5 minutes, each golfer is reminded why they paid to play - a subtle reminder of a cross and flag is also at each hole throughout the course, on each cross is the name of a fallen special operations forces soldier.

We look forward to many more successful years supporting Operation One Voice through this special event!
